The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services plays a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of commercial or institutional buildings, including office buildings, apartment complexes, and other facilities. This position focuses on ensuring that common areas are neat, presentable, and welcoming. Core responsibilities include spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on doors, vacuuming elevator cabs, and maintaining various other aspects of the building to a high standard. The Day Porter helps create a positive first impression for visitors and tenants while supporting the operational needs of the building management.
This role demands attention to detail, a proactive attitude towards facility care, and strong dependability for managing daily cleaning duties. Additional responsibilities include inspecting the building exterior, emptying trash receptacles, attending to ashtrays and sand urns, and ensuring that restrooms are checked and maintained twice daily. The Day Porter also assists building engineers as needed, helping to manage and maintain the building infrastructure effectively under management discretion.
Working in this position requires ongoing communication with management, especially to report maintenance issues such as lighting outages or unauthorized solicitors. The role also involves maintaining safety and security standards by adhering to established protocols and taking appropriate actions when necessary. CCS Facility Services supports a safe work environment by providing reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities and maintaining awareness of potential hazards such as mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
As part of the CCS team, Day Porters benefit from a collaborative and supportive work environment that values attendance, punctuality, dependability, and safety. Employees are encouraged to uphold these competencies to ensure smooth building operations and excellent service quality. The company also offers unique benefits like the DailyPay option, enabling employees to access their wages promptly.
