Job Description
CCS Facility Services is recognized as one of the largest building service contractors in the United States, offering specialized janitorial and facility engineering services to a vast portfolio of commercial businesses. The company prides itself on employing a deep bench of cleaning and engineering experts, all dedicated to delivering superior service. Embracing a Service Heart philosophy, CCS Facility Services is fundamentally built to serve its clients with a passionate commitment to exceed their expectations in every engagement. With a strong business foundation rooted in its people, CCS not only values but actively invests in its workforce by promoting internal growth and fostering a community culture united around core values and exceptional professionalism.
The role of the Day Porter - Floater at CCS Facility Services is critical in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderly condition of shared spaces within office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional facilities. This hybrid position blends traditional day porter responsibilities with flexible floater duties, requiring the individual to support multiple locations as necessary. The day porter tasks focus on routine upkeep, which includes cleaning, trash management, and minor maintenance to ensure all common areas present a polished, welcoming environment. Meanwhile, the floater aspect provides vital operational support by filling in for absent employees due to call-offs, scheduled time off, leaves of absence, or other staffing requirements.
Responsibilities for this position include spot cleaning of lobby glass doors, polishing chrome fixtures, vacuuming elevator cabs and lobbies multiple times daily, sweeping stairwells and building entrances, inspecting and maintaining cleanliness of exterior areas, and reporting maintenance needs such as lighting issues or security concerns promptly to management. The role also demands vigilance in maintaining the integrity of building aesthetics by removing smudges and marks on walls and doors and ensuring that all trash receptacles, both interior and exterior, are emptied and cleaned regularly.
As a floater, the Day Porter adapts quickly to different buildings, schedules, and client expectations, maintaining consistent service quality and professionalism across all assigned locations. This flexibility requires a proactive approach and a strong sense of dependability, as well as the ability to quickly learn and integrate into new environments. Essential competencies for success in this position include excellent attendance and punctuality, unwavering dependability, safety awareness, and adherence to established security protocols.
The work environment involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate noise levels. However, CCS Facility Services is committed to making reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions safely and effectively.
Offering a competitive hourly compensation rate of $17.90 to $20.00, CCS Facility Services invites motivated individuals to join a company where passion, service excellence, and employee development are paramount. Working here means becoming part of a team that cares, supports, and thrives together, driven by a shared determination to deliver the best experience for both employees and customers. If you are dedicated, adaptable, and committed to high standards of cleanliness and service, this Day Porter - Floater position offers a rewarding career opportunity within a respected and growing company.
