The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services plays a critical part in maintaining the appearance and functionality of building environments during daytime hours. A Day Porter is responsible for cleaning and upkeep of high-traffic areas such as lobbies, elevators, stairwells, and entrances. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Key duties include spot cleaning glass doors, polishing chrome fixtures, vacuuming elevator cabs, inspecting the building exterior for litter, and cleaning ashtrays and trash receptacles across floors. The Day Porter routinely checks restrooms, sweeps stairwells, and removes debris from landscaped areas to maintain a polished and tidy environment. Additionally, they are tasked with reporting lighting outages, solicitors, or other issues to management for prompt resolution.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Basic English communication skills
- Ability to report maintenance issues clearly
- Commitment to safety guidelines
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to pass background check if required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous janitorial or building maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills

- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- Polish chrome on lobby doors
- Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- Check restrooms twice daily
- Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- Sweep building entrances
- Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- Report any solicitors to the Management Office
- Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc. during high-traffic times
- Empty all trash receptacles
- Vacuum carpeted floors
- Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
