We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Day Porter to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of our museum facilities. The position offers a well-structured schedule from Thursday to Monday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys a versatile role that blends cleaning duties, event setup, outdoor maintenance, and general support in a bustling environment that sees daily visitors and special events. The Day Porter will play a vital role in ensuring that the museum environment is welcoming, safe, and professionally maintained throughout each day. This position demands a proactive team player who can efficiently set up and break down event spaces, operate cleaning equipment, assist with seasonal outdoor tasks like snow removal, and promptly respond to communications to keep the facility running smoothly.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift push and pull up to 40 lbs
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks and work both indoors and outdoors
  • Basic cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate over the radio in English
  • Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Set up and break down for events including moving chairs tables and other equipment
  • Perform general cleaning duties throughout the facility
  • Assist with snow removal during winter months
  • Operate power washing equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of indoor and outdoor areas
  • Respond to radio communications in a timely manner
