We are currently seeking a reliable Day Porter to join our team at a school location starting August 1st, 2026. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a professional team delivering essential cleaning and maintenance services that contribute to the safe and welcoming environment of the educational facility. The Day Porter position is ideal for individuals just entering or re-entering the workforce, with little or no prior experience required, as on-the-job training is provided. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour, with the final offer dependent on experience, skills, location, and market alignment. As a Day Porter, you will perform general cleaning duties in specified areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways. Your responsibilities will include sweeping, mopping, removing debris, cleaning spills, and maintaining trash receptacles. You will follow proper procedures for chemical use and power equipment to protect flooring and fixtures, as well as notify supervisors of necessary repairs or maintenance needs. Building positive communication and teamwork with clients, co-workers, and management is essential to success in this role. Additional duties involve recycling management, polishing hard surfaces, cleaning food preparation areas, moving furniture and equipment, and ensuring restroom cleanliness. Compliance with company and regulatory safety, security, and quality standards is mandatory.

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways
  • Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas
  • Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers
  • Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles
