The role of a Day Porter at Controlled Contamination Services is pivotal for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within designated customer facilities or offices. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, focusing on delivering exceptional janitorial services that contribute to a safe and healthy working environment. The Day Porter is responsible for a variety of janitorial tasks including cleaning, stocking, trash management, floor care, and routine maintenance duties assigned by supervisors.
The position demands attention to detail and familiarity with a wide range of cleaning chemicals and their safe use. The Day Porter is expected to work proactively throughout the day to ensure that all areas within the facility are clean and well-maintained, from wiping surfaces and cleaning floors to monitoring the condition of the environment and reporting any discrepancies such as leaks, damage, or safety hazards.
In addition to routine cleaning, the role may include specialized tasks such as shampooing rugs and cleaning glass surfaces as required. The Day Porter is also responsible for filling germicide spray bottles, stocking supplies, and removing trash regularly, ensuring the facility’s environment promotes hygiene and meets client expectations consistently.
This role is ideal for candidates who value structure, cleanliness, and have the physical capability to perform duties that involve standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks safely. - High school diploma or GED or one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Fill all spray bottles with the germicide needed to clean and sterilize
- Clean, stock, and remove trash in each room
- Replace all trash can liners multiple times during the shift
- Mop all floors and/or vacuum all carpets
- Clean all surfaces within the environment including walls, desks, counters, equipment and floors
- Shampoo rugs and clean glass as required
- Notify supervisor of discrepancies in the environment such as leaks or damage
- Become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements
- Perform all other duties as defined by supervisor
