Day Porter

We are currently seeking a full-time Day Porter to join the team at our Encompass client location in Miramar, FL. This role is essential in supporting the operational effectiveness of the facility by performing daily cleaning and restocking duties in a variety of areas including patient rooms, offices, restrooms, lounges, waiting areas, and other assigned spaces. The Day Porter uses a range of cleaning devices, products, supplies, and equipment to maintain the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition. This position demands a high level of responsibility and attention to detail as the cleanliness of the environment directly impacts the experience and health of patients and staff alike.

The Day Porter will be expected to operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums and effectively manage the use of cleaning solvents, chemicals, and germicides in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department regulations. Duties include damp dusting furniture and fixtures, wet mopping floors, cleaning wash basins, mirrors, commodes, and showers, and addressing any maintenance issues such as leaks or broken furnishings by promptly reporting them to supervisors. Maintaining the housekeeping equipment and utility closets in a clean and orderly manner is also part of the daily responsibilities. The role requires attentiveness to safety, including immediate cleanup of water spills to prevent injuries.

Candidates must have basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, along with verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with colleagues and the public. A valid driver's license is required, and applicants should be in good physical and mental health to manage the physical demands of the job, which include lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling during work hours. The position operates under general supervision, allowing for the use of independent judgment to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
