Job Description

Currently, SBM is seeking a dedicated and reliable Day Porter to join their team. The Day Porter role, which is a full-time position, offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.00. The shift runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals who appreciate steady work hours and a consistent work schedule. The primary responsibility of the Day Porter, also referred to as a Customer Service Representative in this context, centers around maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of assigned areas within the property. This role is crucial as it directly impacts the customer experience by ensuring that facilities remain neat, safe, and welcoming.

The Day Porter will be expected to perform a variety of janitorial duties that include operating motorized cleaning equipment, following a detailed daily schedule, and supporting both the shift lead and other team members to complete any punch-list items or fill in during staff shortages. The position demands a proactive approach to identify and report any hazardous conditions or incidents to supervisors promptly. Additionally, strict adherence to safety rules, company protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.

Collaboration and communication are key aspects of this role. The Day Porter will need to interact professionally with supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to understand customer service and satisfaction principles is essential as this helps the Day Porter contribute positively to the organization’s reputation and customer relationships.

A valid driver’s license may be required, and forklift certification could be an asset, along with the completion of all safety and task training certifications.
