SBM Management is currently seeking a diligent Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join their expanding team. This role is pivotal in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and employees alike. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and excels in delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. They must possess strong customer service skills and work effectively with fellow team members to uphold the company’s high standards. This position involves various custodial duties such as floor care, surface cleaning, waste management, and light maintenance tasks to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition.

The Custodian/CSR is expected to understand and follow explicit oral and written instructions while exercising good judgment in daily tasks. This includes communicating job-related information clearly, assisting in training new staff, and demonstrating best practices for custodial work. Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to comply with safety rules and company protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

This role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, offering a competitive hourly wage between $17.00 and $18.00. Candidates with reliable transportation are preferred, and a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance are necessary if using a personal or company vehicle for work purposes. Although not required, bilingual capabilities are considered a plus.

Job Qualifications

  • Reliable transportation
  • Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read simple words and recognize similarities and differences in words and numbers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with tens and hundreds
  • Knowledge of American measurements such as money, weight, size, and volume
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration, and insurance if driving
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
  • Clean surfaces by dusting, sanitizing, and polishing glass, mirrors, windows, metal, and wood
  • Remove waste by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to disposal areas
  • Conduct light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and restocking supplies
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing common areas, restrooms, and break rooms
  • Support janitorial staff with tasks during events and routine cleaning
