The position of Day Porter within C&W Services offers an essential role dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and order in commercial buildings. This full-time role, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, involves performing a variety of custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and washing floors, vacuuming rugs, spot cleaning, and using commercial floor care equipment including buffers and shampoo machines. The Day Porter is responsible for the upkeep of bathrooms, restocking supplies, monitoring facility conditions, and ensuring all designated areas meet established cleanliness standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision, and a consistent work ethic. Compensation ranges from $14.88 to $17.50 per hour, reflecting competitive pay aligned with market standards and individual qualifications. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous custodial or janitorial experience a plus but not required
- ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners

- physical stamina to perform manual cleaning tasks

Job Duties
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings
- use light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines including attachments
- vacuum rugs in offices and public areas
- spot clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed
- clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting
- wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows
- wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior
- wash and spot clean interior walls daily as appropriate
- clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily including damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions
- monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out and report to supervisors
- collect building trash daily and place in approved containers for removal
- replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers
- sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed
- perform periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing
- perform any other assigned duties as needed
