ABM (NYSE: ABM) is a leading global provider of facility services and solutions, committed to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. Founded in 1909, ABM operates across more than 350 offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and various international locations. Serving over 20,000 clients, ABM’s services span janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy management, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical services, landscaping and turf management, and mission-critical solutions. The company caters to a diverse range of industries including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, entertainment venues, and more. With annualized revenues nearing $8 billion and a workforce exceeding 100,000 employees, ABM is known for its expansive reach and commitment to quality service.
The Day Porter position at ABM is a critical frontline role, essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment during business hours. This role focuses primarily on maintaining high-traffic areas, such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces, ensuring that these areas remain spotless and well-stocked throughout the day. The position is based at 1700 S. Pavillion, Summerlin, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $16.00, with a Monday to Friday shift from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This opportunity is ideal for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce who may have limited experience or education, and ABM highly encourages military veterans and candidates with military experience to apply.
The Day Porter is responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and immediate spill clean-ups to ensure the environment is always presentable. The role also involves monitoring and restocking restrooms, emptying trash and recycling receptacles, wiping down high-touch surfaces to promote hygiene, and assisting with event setups or break downs as required. Beyond cleaning duties, the Day Porter plays a vital role in safety by reporting facility issues, hazards, or supply needs to supervisors, and must adhere to established safety protocols and cleaning procedures.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and effective time management skills. Good communication is also essential since the Day Porter often interacts with staff and visitors, providing courteous and professional customer service. ABM’s comprehensive benefits package adds value to this role, making it an attractive opportunity for those looking to build a career in facilities management and support services. ABM prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity Employer, offering reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and maintaining a military-friendly recruitment approach. This position not only offers regular hours and steady pay but also a supportive work environment dedicated to employee growth and satisfaction. Applicants looking for a reliable part of the workforce where they can develop essential skills and contribute to a cleaner, safer community will find this position rewarding.
