Job Description

Controlled Contamination Services (CCS) is a national provider specializing in facility solutions, technical services, and decontamination with a solid reputation established since its founding in 1993. The Day Porter role within Controlled Contamination Services is an essential position responsible for maintaining clean and safe environments at designated customer facilities or office locations. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The Day Porter will undertake varied janitorial duties to ensure hygienic conditions and smooth daily operations within client sites. Their daily responsibilities include the cleaning, stocking, and upkeep of rooms, trash management, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and maintaining surfaces such as desks, equipment, walls, and counters. The role also involves specialized tasks like shampooing rugs, cleaning glass, and assisting with other related duties as directed by supervisors.

Safety and knowledge of cleaning chemical components are particularly emphasized due to the sensitive nature of the environments CCS supports. The Day Porter must be attentive to detail, recognizing and reporting irregularities such as leaking faucets or structural damages. Confidentiality and professionalism are vital attributes, reflecting the company's dedication to client privacy and operational excellence.

This role is suited for individuals with a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in janitorial or related services. Practical skills include the ability to read, understand instructions, communicate effectively in writing, and interact professionally in small group settings. Physical stamina is necessary to meet the role's demands, which include standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and using hands to manage tools and materials. Job Requirements

  • One year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 40 pounds, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Fill all spray bottles with the germicide needed to clean and sterilize
  • Clean, stock, and remove trash in each room
  • Replace all trash can liners multiple times during the shift
  • Mop floors and vacuum carpets
  • Clean all surfaces including walls, desks, counters, equipment, and floors
  • Shampoo rugs and clean glass as required
  • Notify supervisor of any discrepancies such as leaking faucets, broken pipes, cracks in walls or glass
  • Become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
