The position of Day Porter at Holladay plays a crucial role in supporting this mission by maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned properties, thereby enhancing the properties’ appearance and ensuring they remain inviting and safe environments for tenants and visitors. The Day Porter will carry out routine housekeeping and groundskeeping duties under the direction of the Property Manager and will also assist on-site staff with various tasks as required. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual comfortable working independently while embodying Holladay’s core values of community, service, and integrity.
This full-time position involves a variety of tasks including daily property inspections to identify trash, debris, and potential safety hazards, all to be promptly reported to the senior building engineer or property manager. The Day Porter will be responsible for sweeping parking lots, walkways, entryways, and hallways, as well as performing daily cleaning and maintenance of grounds and common areas. Critical responsibilities also include maintaining external fixtures, ensuring light fixtures are clean and operational, and assisting with the preparation of vacant suites to ensure they meet move-in standards.
In addition to general cleaning duties, the role includes basic landscaping responsibilities such as planting flowers and shrubs, watering, mowing, weeding, and trimming bushes, along with snow removal operations as needed. The position emphasizes high attention to detail and a commitment to safety, requiring someone who can handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain composure under pressure. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- At least one year experience in grounds keeping and/or housekeeping
- Strong customer service skills dealing with tenants owners vendors
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver’s license proof of insurance and clean MVR report

Job Duties
- Inspect property on a daily basis pick up trash and debris and report any safety hazards or repairs needed to the Senior Building Engineer or Property Manager immediately
- Sweep parking lot areas curb lines walkways entryways and hallways as needed
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of grounds and common areas
- Pick up trash on grounds and common areas daily or more often as needed
- Ensure external fixtures are clean and in working order
- Ensure all light fixtures are clean and in working order and replace lightbulbs as needed
- Assist with the removal of furniture appliances and debris from vacated suites
- Ensure cleanliness of vacant suites and make them ready for move-in
- Responsible for the cleanliness of vacant suites and receives priority of work from the Property Manager
- Responsible for all cleaning aspects of preparing vacant suites
- Light landscaping which may include planting flowers and/or shrubbery as directed
- Watering of landscape areas as needed to maintain the health and well-being of plant material and grassy areas
- Mowing of grassy areas weeding of landscape beds trimming of bushes removing weeds from any and all concrete areas
- Maintain snow removal operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
