The Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) role at SBM Management is an essential position that combines custodial responsibilities with exceptional customer service skills. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of facilities while promoting a welcoming and professional atmosphere for both coworkers and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work collaboratively with others, follow detailed instructions, and communicate effectively. The CSR must demonstrate good judgment in decision-making and may be called upon to explain work processes or assist in training others. This position offers an immediate opening with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.81 to $18.81 and operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Working as part of a supportive team, the custodian/CSR helps maintain clean, safe, and organized environments by managing various cleaning tasks, light maintenance duties, and waste disposal responsibilities. The role requires adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and professional conduct, ensuring that all areas including lobbies, conference rooms, restrooms, and common spaces are kept in optimal condition. The position emphasizes the use of proper personal protective equipment and compliance with all reporting systems and environmental standards. Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or equivalent
  • Up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license if required
  • Proof of vehicle registration and insurance if driving
  • Ability to read and write clearly
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to read 2-3 syllable words
  • Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
  • Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving 10s and 100s
  • Knowledge of American measurement units for money, weight, size, length, shapes, and volume
  • Valid driver’s license if driving own or company vehicle on business time, with proof of vehicle registration and insurance
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
  • Conduct surface care such as dusting, sanitizing, glass, mirror, and window cleaning, metal and wood polishing, and cleaning blinds and draperies
  • Remove waste by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting to disposal areas
  • Perform light maintenance including replacing light bulbs and restocking supply areas
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures and stop at-risk behavior
  • Follow company protocols, procedures, policies, and rules while taking direction and responding to supervision
  • Use proper personal protective equipment and present a professional appearance and conduct
