The Day Porter role at FCS Facility Services plays a critical part in upholding these standards. A Day Porter is responsible for the thorough cleaning and maintenance of client sites, focusing particularly on areas such as parking garages, restrooms, public spaces, and other high-traffic environments. This full-time position operates from 3:30pm to 12:00am, requiring a dedicated individual who can work independently to manage the cleanliness and safety of the premises. The responsibilities include operating a Gator Vehicle (Golf Cart) for transport within the garage facility, removing trash with appropriate equipment, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces like counters and door handles, and maintaining various equipment including parking pay stations, elevators, and escalators. Additionally, the porter conducts routine patrols for litter removal and is proactive in spill cleanups, ensuring safety hazards are minimized. Customer interaction is also a part of the role, providing direction and assistance courteously.

This position suits candidates who possess a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally have prior janitorial or custodial experience. They must demonstrate good communication skills in both English and Spanish, possess a customer service-oriented mindset, and be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The job involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, occasionally exposing workers to dust, fumes, cleaning chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting are inherent to the role.
