CCS Facility Services is one of the largest building service contractors in the United States. With a rich history and a robust presence across the nation, CCS has earned a reputation for delivering outstanding janitorial and facility engineering services. Serving thousands of commercial businesses, the company employs a vast team of experienced cleaning and engineering professionals dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency. As an organization guided by a Service Heart, CCS Facility Services is built to serve, driven by a passion to exceed customer expectations through attentive and quality service.

CCS Facility Services thrives on the principles of integrity, respect, and excellence. The company places a strong emphasis on investing in their workforce, fostering a culture of growth and advancement. Employees benefit from a supportive environment where promotion often comes from within the organization. United by core values, CCS encourages a sense of community among colleagues, all committed to providing superior employee and customer experiences.

The role of a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas in office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional facilities. The Day Porter acts as the frontline contributor to a positive and welcoming environment by managing various cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the day. These responsibilities include spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby doors, and vacuuming elevator cabs twice daily, among other tasks. In addition, the Day Porter monitors exterior spaces by picking up trash, emptying and cleaning exterior trash receptacles, and ensuring that building entrances remain clean and free from debris.

Ensuring restroom areas are checked twice daily to maintain hygiene standards is a critical aspect of the position. The Day Porter also cleans ashtrays and sand urns on every floor and sweeps stairwells and landings as needed. The role involves reporting any maintenance issues such as lights being out or solicitors, ensuring that the management office is promptly informed. Cleaning and removing smudges on walls, doors, and wall coverings further emphasizes the importance of attention to detail in this role.

Competencies such as attendance, punctuality, and dependability are vital for success in this role. The ability to follow instructions, respond to management, and take responsibility for one’s actions ensures the smooth operation of facility services. Safety and security awareness are also crucial, as the role occasionally involves exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and electrical risks. The work environment has a moderate noise level and reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Joining CCS Facility Services means becoming part of a team that values service, professionalism, and community. The organization is committed to providing not just a job, but a rewarding career path supported by ongoing training and opportunities for advancement. The Day Porter position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are motivated to contribute to a clean, safe, and inviting environment, while being part of a company that truly cares about its employees and clients alike.
