The Day Floater is responsible for maintaining common areas in clean and orderly condition performing a variety of specific janitorial tasks. This position is vital for creating a welcoming and spotless environment for building occupants and visitors. Duties include cleaning glass doors and chrome fittings, vacuuming elevator interiors, inspecting building exteriors, maintaining ashtrays and sand urns, emptying exterior trash receptacles, and sweeping stairwells and entrances. The Day Floater also monitors restrooms, cleans debris from landscaped areas, polishes elevator cab railings and lobby call buttons, reports maintenance issues such as lighting outages, and assists building engineers as needed. Attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures are critical in this role. This job requires punctuality, dependability, and a proactive approach to maintaining facility cleanliness and safety.

The work environment for this position includes moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather, and the risk of electrical shock.
