Job Requirements
- Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation
Job Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant - C.N.A I or C.N.A II
- Successful completion of nurse's aide, home health aide or equivalent training course or minimum of one year related experience in caring for impaired adults
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers and the public
- Basic knowledge in working with frail and elderly to support Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
- Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to work effectively with culturally, economically, and educationally diverse populations
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation
Job Duties
- Assist participants and or supervise with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting as assigned or needed
- Create and participate in group(s) and one-on-one activities according to daily activity calendar and requests by Recreational Coordinator
- Monitor and assist participants with meals at feeding table
- Assist in maintaining clean and orderly day rooms, kitchen and personal care areas
- Accompany participants to medical and other appointments
- Perform and or assist with laundry including clothes for participants
- Assist Drivers with loading and unloading participants from vehicles
- Demonstrate dependability through consistent compliance with scheduled work hours
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team activities and carry out the plan of care as directed
- Note changes in participant's physical or emotional health and communicate appropriately
- Maintain participants' medical record and fulfill Senior CommUnity Care charting and reporting
- Assist Transportation Department with participants' take home supplies
- Support Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Follow all Senior CommUnity Care policies and OSHA safety guidelines
- Act within scope of authority and maintain confidentiality
- Handle potentially infectious specimens with biohazard precautions
- Maintain safe working environment
- Participate in continuing education classes and required training meetings
- Perform other duties as required or requested
