Job Requirements

  • 30 hours of pre-camp planning work
  • Attendance at new hire orientation prior to start date
  • CPR, first aid, blood borne pathogens and child abuse prevention certifications within 30 days of hiring date
  • Attendance at all staff trainings and meetings
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during summer day camp (9-10 weeks)

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 3 seasons of experience or years working with youth
  • Must have previous leadership experience
  • Ability to be a good role model and to adapt to changing needs and circumstances

Job Duties

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for program times utilizing risk management guidelines, developmental characteristics, variety, creativity, and academic enriched activities
  • Assist Youth Program Director with creating staff and program schedules
  • Maintain equipment and facilities use only in an appropriate manner
  • Assist in the planning and running of Parents Night Out, and Family Events in conjunction with Youth Program Director, as required
  • Ensure staff members execute program responsibilities as assigned including lesson plans, devotions, group activities, Family Events and water activities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships at all times with children, parents and co-workers and actively engage parents and families on a daily basis
