Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food prep role preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand and lift heavy items
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must comply with food safety standards and pass certification
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Team player mindset with a positive attitude
Job Qualifications
- Able to work flexible shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Can physically stand or walk 100 percent of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Able to read recipes and food labels
- Able to read POS ticket orders
- Communicates ticket times and food flow
- Reports potential issues to manager on duty
- Able to safely use kitchen machinery such as open flame grill, stove, and slicer
- Work safely with hot plates, pots, and pans
- Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift
- Ability to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs for long periods
- Work in high temperature and damp environment indoors with minimal outdoor work
- Assist employees with dishwashing and cleaning as needed
- Completed and passed food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
Job Duties
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Prepare menu items according to Flanigan's company recipe manual and plate presentation
- Ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to ensure kitchen uninterrupted operation
- Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
- Transport items to and from kitchen and assist vendors with unloading delivery trucks
- Clean and maintain kitchen area throughout shift
- Break down and clean all stations at closing
