Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton, located at 921 Canal St, New Orleans, Louisiana, is a prestigious luxury hotel brand known worldwide for its exceptional hospitality and service excellence. Part of the Marriott International portfolio, The Ritz-Carlton has won over 100 awards globally, setting the gold standard in luxury hotel experiences and catering to discerning guests who expect nothing but the very best in comfort, care, and personalized service. The company prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees from various backgrounds can thrive and contribute their unique talents and perspectives. They are deeply committed to equal employment opportunities, championing diversity, and maintaining a positive workplace free from discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics.

The position being offered here is for a Guest Service Expert on the morning shift, a full-time, non-management role focused on delivering memorable and unique hospitality experiences to hotel guests. This job is hourly-based, with a pay rate set at $7.25 per hour. This role is not remote and requires the candidate to be physically present at The Ritz-Carlton property in New Orleans.

This role transcends the traditional notion of merely serving food and beverages; the Guest Service Expert plays an active role in creating an immersive and enjoyable guest experience beyond basic service. Responsibilities include table setting, liaising with kitchen staff, engaging with and serving guests, and maintaining cleanliness in work and storage areas. These duties are essential to ensuring that every guest interaction is integrated into the overall positive experience the hotel aims to deliver.

Successful candidates must be adaptable and physically capable of the dynamic nature of this position, which involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and reaching, sometimes under conditions that involve uneven and slippery surfaces. Attention to detail is critical, particularly when reviewing menus, verifying information, and executing a range of tasks that require flexibility, precision, and guest-focused dedication.

Candidates should be committed to abiding by the company's standards and contributing to a safe and professional work environment. This includes adhering to company policies and procedures, upholding quality standards, and maintaining a professional appearance and communication style. The culture at The Ritz-Carlton emphasizes continuous improvement, creativity, kindness, and compassion among all associates.

The role does not require supervisory experience or specialized certifications but prefers candidates with at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational attainment. While less than one year of prior work experience in a related field is acceptable, candidates are expected to be eager to learn and grow within The Ritz-Carlton team.

Working at The Ritz-Carlton offers a unique opportunity to be part of a global, world-class team dedicated to setting industry benchmarks for luxury service. Employees learn and practice "The Gold Standards" daily — including the employee promise, credo, and service values — to ensure every day at work reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence. Joining this team means beginning a fulfilling career path where you can be your best, find purpose in your work, and take pride in the impact you make on guests and colleagues alike.
