We are currently seeking skilled L1 Data Center Technicians to join our dynamic operations team. This role is integral to the seamless functioning of our data center, responsible for performing critical tasks such as rack and stack installation of servers and network devices, managing inventory and hardware logistics, and providing frontline incident and request support. The L1 DC Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams to support installation, relocation, and decommissioning of hardware, as well as assist in maintaining an organized and efficient data center environment.

The role demands a strong technical foundation combined with exceptional organizational abilities, as well as a commitment to adherence to safety protocols and compliance requirements. Candidates will engage in hands-on tasks ranging from cable management and asset tagging to troubleshooting hardware issues and supporting remote engineers. This position also involves working within a fast-paced, 24x7 shift environment requiring excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals including IP, switching, and patching
  • Familiarity with server hardware and cabling standards
  • Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or similar platforms
  • Ability to perform basic console operations using SSH or Putty
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
  • Capability to work in rotating 24x7 shift schedules
  • Physical ability to manage hardware installation and inventory tasks
  • Adherence to safety and compliance protocols
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of fiber and Ethernet cabling
  • Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow or similar
  • Basic skills in console tools such as SSH and Putty
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to manage physical inventory and logistics tasks
  • Comfortable working in a 24x7 shift environment
  • Attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Job Duties

  • Perform rack and stack of servers, network devices, and storage equipment
  • Handle cabling including labeling and cable management
  • Support installation, relocation, and decommissioning of hardware
  • Receive and verify hardware shipments against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Perform physical inspection of equipment for damages upon arrival
  • Maintain accurate inventory records including asset tagging, tracking, and updates
  • Manage spares inventory and ensure availability of critical components
  • Coordinate hardware returns, dispatch, and logistics tracking
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and documentation of all assets
  • Provide L1 support for incidents and service requests via ticketing tools
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for server hardware issues and network connectivity
  • Escalate issues to L2/L3 teams with proper logs and updates
  • Act as hands and eyes support for remote engineers
  • Execute tasks such as cable reseating, power cycling devices, and console access setup
  • Perform basic hardware replacement as guided
  • Monitor alerts from data center tools and dashboards
  • Update tickets with accurate troubleshooting steps and status
  • Maintain documentation, asset inventory, and audit records
  • Follow data center security and access protocols
  • Adhere to ESD, safety, and PPE standards
  • Ensure readiness for audits and compliance checks
