AWS powers millions of businesses and services worldwide by providing reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. As a part of AWS Infrastructure Services, this division is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This means ensuring continuous operation and availability of data centers that support a vast network of servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. These operations enable businesses of all sizes to innovate and grow without concerns over IT infrastructure reliability. AWS is committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values bold ideas and empowers employees to take ownership and deliver impactful results.
We are currently seeking a Data Center Technician to join our vibrant AWS team. This role is crucial in maintaining the heartbeat of AWS’s global infrastructure by performing in-depth hardware and network diagnostics and physical repairs. The Data Center Technician will be involved in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and network systems within AWS data centers. The position requires a hands-on approach with physical activities such as lifting equipment, working in elevated or cramped spaces, and supporting 24/7 operations including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
In this role, you will work synergistically with a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. You will serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors, contributing to operational excellence and the continuous improvement of processes. The position involves participating in on-call rotations, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities, ensuring the highest standards for safety, security, and cost efficiency.
Physical demands of the job include lifting and moving materials up to 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, safely navigating ladders and elevated spaces, and adapting to work in industrial environments. AWS supports relocation for eligible candidates, along with a lump-sum stipend and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans with matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
Working as a Data Center Technician at AWS provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge cloud technology, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless service delivery across global data centers. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in computer/server hardware and network troubleshooting, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a 24/7 operational environment. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of 30.00 to 54.00 USD, reflecting qualifications and experience.
