Job Description

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Leader to join our team who will play a vital role in continuing to uphold these high standards and driving further improvement within our operations.

The Technical Leader in this role will be instrumental in the planning and operational management of raised floor data center environments. This includes detailed responsibilities such as rack design, managing hardware placements, power distribution, and optimizing cooling systems to ensure efficient data center functionality. This role involves the development and documentation of standard operating procedures and managing operating level agreements to maintain clear and effective operational standards. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for updating rack elevations, providing key metrics to improve availability, and offering advanced support for raised floor incident resolution.

In this capacity, the leader will also engage deeply with the design and implementation of critical data center operational processes to establish consistency across the organization. They will focus on process improvement initiatives which may include automation to enhance productivity within the data center operations. Providing accurate metrics management to facilitate financial and analytical reporting is also a fundamental part of the job, helping to drive decision-making that positively impacts operational availability and efficiency.

This role requires oversight of the physical security and access management for the data centers, ensuring that employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors are properly accounted for, adequately trained, and authorized according to company policies. The Technical Leader will lead programs for optimal utilization of raised floor capacity, maintain comprehensive and accurate Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) records, and drive efficiency programs aimed at cost reduction and enhanced use of space, power, and HVAC resources.

The individual will engage in long-term planning regarding the physical layout of the infrastructure and will provide strategic input on new solutions for capacity and equipment placement. Maintaining the accuracy and documentation of the hardware environment and electrical distribution within the raised floor management tools is another crucial aspect of the role.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years experience supporting a large scale computing environment
  • Minimum two years in a leadership role working with IT or operational teams
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care or related field and minimum eight years IT experience in a support or operations environment
  • Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement

  • Proven experience in leading technical teams within data center environments
  • Strong knowledge of raised floor data center infrastructure including rack design, power distribution, and cooling
  • Experience in developing and documenting standard operating procedures
  • Skilled in managing operating level agreements
