The company prides itself on a culture that fosters intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and encourages employees to bring their whole selves to work. It is recognized for its commitment to veteran employment, with approximately 20% of its workforce comprising veterans, and a strong support network for reservists and transitioning military service members.
The Cybersecurity Analyst role at Northrop Grumman is an on-site position based in Tampa, FL, designed for individuals with expertise in cybersecurity and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, especially Splunk. This job offers a Panama schedule featuring 12-hour shifts with rotating day and night schedules every 12 weeks, allowing employees to enjoy a three-day weekend every other week. The role requires candidates to have a Top Secret clearance and be U.S. citizens due to the classified nature of the work.
The position’s responsibilities include developing, implementing, and optimizing Splunk queries, designing dashboards and reports for various stakeholders, and maintaining Splunk infrastructure to ensure performance and availability. The analyst will utilize Splunk Enterprise Security for threat detection and utilize security solutions like Trellix/Endpoint Security Solutions for countering threats. Collaboration across IT, network, and application teams is integral to this role, as is conducting investigations into security incidents and anomalies. Candidates are expected to document their findings clearly and stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats and industry best practices. Northrop Grumman offers competitive compensation ranging from $79,300 to $118,900 annually, with eligibility for bonuses, overtime, and shift differentials, alongside comprehensive benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, and paid time off.
This opportunity is part of Northrop Grumman’s wider commitment to supporting military service members transitioning to civilian careers through programs like the SkillBridge Program. This initiative provides hands-on experience and the potential for full-time employment, specifically geared toward service members in their final 6 months of active duty. The program emphasizes training aligned with company values and operational needs, providing meaningful exposure to the defense industry. Applicants must meet stringent eligibility requirements, including active duty status, honorable discharge expectations, and command authorization.
In summary, the Cybersecurity Analyst role at Northrop Grumman offers a challenging and rewarding career with a focus on cutting-edge cybersecurity practices in a high-security environment. It combines competitive pay, significant professional growth, and the opportunity to contribute to national security and technological innovation within a supportive and diverse workplace environment.
