This role is a Customs Documentation Coordinator position focused on managing documentation required by US Customs and other government agencies for importing goods into the United States on behalf of importers. The coordinator will be responsible for obtaining accurate classification of imported goods, data entry, processing import-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements and international regulations. Working within FedEx Logistics, this role demands close collaboration with internal teams, customers, brokers, carriers, and government agencies to facilitate smooth customs clearance of shipments.

The successful candidate will provide outstanding customer service, handle high volumes of work with attention to time sensitivity, and independently manage multiple systems and reference materials. This position is hybrid only and scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm PST, requiring candidates to live within a 50-mile radius of 8500 Osage Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. The role offers paid training and a salary range between $24.91 and $34.87 per hour, with eligibility for additional pay, premiums, or bonuses. FedEx also provides health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement for eligible employees.

Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED required

  • proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner
  • minimum of 6 months work experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOP's, tariff book, internet or Customs
  • data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and may handle all PGA's (Participating Government Agencies)
  • maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirements
  • adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • work closely with other internal staff, departments, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high level of service to customers
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • may handle remote filings
  • ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
  • perform other or additional duties as assigned
