This job opportunity is for a Customs Documentation Coordinator role based at FedEx Logistics in Memphis, Tennessee. This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to be located within a 50-mile radius of the location, with a typical work schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm CST. As a Customs Documentation Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the meticulous coordination and processing of documentation needed to facilitate the legal entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers. This involves obtaining accurate classification of goods from various resources, ensuring compliance with all international import/export regulations, and maintaining up-to-date shipment documentation as per record-keeping requirements. The role demands excellent customer service skills to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and management. Employees in this position must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, there may be occasional mandatory overtime and the need to work on company-recognized holidays during peak periods. Job Duties
- Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
- provide impeccable customer service
- obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs
- data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and handling all participating Government Agencies
- maintain and keep shipment documentation current in compliance with record keeping requirements
- adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
- work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high service levels
- process agency brokerage shipments
- handle remote filings
- ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
- perform other duties as assigned
