Job Description
FedEx Logistics is a global leader in logistics solutions, providing comprehensive freight forwarding, import and export services designed to help companies of all sizes navigate the complexities of international shipping. As part of the FedEx family, this division focuses on delivering high standards of customer service and operational excellence, enabling businesses to reach markets around the world with efficiency and reliability. With advanced capabilities in ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation, customs brokerage, trade advisory, and e-commerce facilitation, FedEx Logistics plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations for its diverse client base.
This position is for a Customs Entry Coordinator at FedEx Logistics, a role that is integral to the import process and compliance with U.S. Customs and Government regulations. The Customs Entry Coordinator acts as the primary liaison responsible for ensuring that all documentation related to the entry of goods into the United States is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal guidelines. This includes preparing and submitting documentation to U.S. Customs and other participating government agencies, managing shipment records, and providing impeccable customer service throughout the import process.
In this role, employees will handle data entry and processing of import documentation, maintain shipment records in accordance with regulatory requirements, and ensure that all international importing and exporting regulations are followed meticulously. Coordinators will work closely with internal teams, other FedEx departments, customers, carriers, brokers, and government agencies to facilitate smooth shipment clearance and resolve any issues that may arise during customs processing. This collaboration is essential to maintaining high service standards and client satisfaction.
The position also involves handling agency brokerage shipments and may require managing remote filings, highlighting the need for candidates to be adaptable and proficient in multiple systems and reference materials. Candidates will undergo paid training to familiarize themselves with FedEx Logistics’ processes and standards, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver exceptional service.
The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma or GED, with no previous industry experience required, although a minimum of six months of work experience is preferred. Strong data entry and keyboard skills are essential, along with a working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities are crucial to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and time-sensitive work environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple systems concurrently is highly valued.
This role offers a hybrid work opportunity with a Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The starting pay is $16.00 per hour. FedEx Logistics promotes an inclusive work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, including veteran and disability inclusion. The company supports fair hiring practices and does not rely on wage history in its employment process, aligning with progressive employment ordinances.
Joining FedEx Logistics means becoming part of an organization dedicated to connecting global commerce with precision and dedication. This role provides an excellent career opportunity to grow within a leading international logistics organization, develop expertise in customs and import practices, and contribute directly to the seamless movement of goods across international borders.
