The role being offered is that of an Import Documentation Coordinator based at FedEx Logistics' Memphis, TN location. This position is a full-time, onsite role with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with potential for overtime and holiday work. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and manage the documentation required by US Customs and other government agencies for the entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers. This involves ensuring that all import documentation is accurate, compliant, and submitted in a timely manner. The coordinator will obtain proper classification of goods using various resources such as databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, and customs websites. Given the critical nature of customs compliance, the role demands meticulous attention to detail and adherence to international import and export regulations.
In addition to handling import documentation, the coordinator will process agency brokerage shipments and may be involved in remote filings. The position requires active collaboration with internal teams, other FedEx operations, external brokers, carriers, customers, and government agencies to maintain smooth communication and high levels of customer service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- No prior industry experience required
- Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred
- Data entry and keyboard skills required
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

- Ability to handle high volume of work and time-sensitive tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties
- Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for goods entry into the US
- Provide impeccable customer service
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from various sources
- Perform data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to US Customs and participating government agencies
- Maintain shipment documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements
- Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
- Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high-level service
- Process agency brokerage shipments
- Handle remote filings as needed
- Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
