FedEx Logistics is a leading provider of freight forwarding and international logistics services, facilitating the movement of goods globally for businesses of all sizes. As a division of the renowned FedEx Corporation, FedEx Logistics specializes in comprehensive solutions including international ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation and distribution, customs brokerage, trade and customs advisory services, and advanced e-commerce and trade facilitation. The company is committed to helping clients successfully navigate the complexities of global shipping, ensuring their goods reach markets worldwide efficiently and compliantly. FedEx Logistics prides itself on delivering outstanding customer service and innovative logistics solutions to meet the demands of an ever-evolving global market.
This particular job opportunity is a hybrid role based out of the Tonawanda, NY office, offering a blend of in-office and remote work, subject to company policy and after meeting productivity and accuracy standards. Initially, the position will require onsite work for 4-6 months followed by potential work-from-home arrangements depending on company needs. Candidates should be prepared for mandatory overtime during periods of high volume and may need to work on company-recognized holidays. The work schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM and Saturday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
The role primarily involves coordinating the documentation necessary for the entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers, ensuring compliance with U.S. customs and government agency requirements. The individual in this position will be responsible for obtaining accurate classification of goods for customs release using various resources including databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, and internet sources. Duties include data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and potentially participating government agencies (PGAs), maintaining shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements, adhering to international importing and exporting regulations, and working closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high-level service. This position also involves processing agency brokerage shipments, possibly handling remote filings, and ensuring all government and internal policies are followed.
The role offers an hourly pay range of $20.76 to $29.06, with a temporary $3.00 per hour pay premium currently offered during a surge in volume, subject to removal with 30 days' notice. FedEx Logistics provides employees with a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, FedEx Logistics values diversity and inclusion and encourages applicants of varied backgrounds to apply. This role is ideal for individuals who possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, are capable of handling a high volume of time-sensitive work, and can work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
