Job Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years of related experience in customs entry writing or freight forwarding
Proficiency in U.S. Customs regulations and export/import laws
Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
Experience using Automated Broker Interface (ABI) systems and related software
Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for FDA, USDA, EPA, and other agencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Job Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or similar role within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment
Proficient in U.S. Customs procedures and HTS classification
Experience with ABI software (e.g., Descartes, WiseTech, etc.)
Strong understanding of compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Customs Broker License is a plus but not required

Job Duties

Prepare and process import documentation in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Work closely with clients, customs brokers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance
Submit entries through the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) and monitor entry status
Ensure compliance with all relevant government agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.)
Resolve shipment holds, customs exams, and other issues promptly
Maintain and update client profiles and ensure required documentation is on file
Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and industry best practices
Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients throughout the import process
