Headquartered with an office in Tonawanda, NY, FedEx Logistics caters to a diverse range of customers and industries, ensuring their goods are delivered efficiently and compliantly across global markets. The company prides itself on its commitment to high-quality service, innovation, and customer satisfaction, making it a notable employer in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.
The current opportunity is for a hybrid role based out of the Tonawanda, NY office, offering a blend of remote and in-office work in alignment with company policies. This schedule runs Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 9:30 PM on a second-shift basis, making it ideal for candidates seeking consistent evening hours. The position comes with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $24.46, reflecting experience levels and market conditions.
This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and efficient resolution of issues to ensure the smooth inbound and outbound movement of freight and cargo. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and submitting key documentation to parties such as U.S. Customs, agents, and clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include anticipating and resolving potential problems that could delay freight release or movement, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and other service providers, and managing financial and billing issues including letters of credit and customer payment terms.
Beyond these technical duties, the role requires collaboration with internal teams and external business partners via various communication mediums. The successful candidate will engage in producing operational reports, facilitating entry processing, resolving exceptions both pre- and post-arrival, and keeping all stakeholders informed of processes and exceptions. Familiarity with FedEx products and services is also expected, as is the ability to handle high volumes of work and sensitive, time-critical tasks with minimal supervision.
The role offers paid training, enabling new hires to gain essential industry knowledge and skills including U.S. Customs regulations, harmonized tariff systems, and brokerage practices. This commitment to employee growth is aligned with FedEx Logistics' support for continual learning and career development.
