The role of Customer Service Representative at UniFirst is a vital position responsible for acting as the main conduit between customers and the company. The successful candidate will be instrumental in answering customer inquiries related to accounts, company policies, procedures, and services via telephone and email communications. This role includes handling accounts receivable duties such as contacting customers regarding outstanding balances, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving any account conflicts through established escalation processes. Additionally, the Customer Service Representative will collaborate closely with the Sales Department by providing administrative support and performing essential data entry and other administrative functions. This position offers a structured 5-day work week with weekends off, providing a healthy work-life balance. On-the-job training is provided, supplemented by an extensive online training framework through UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program and access to the company’s dedicated learning platform called The Learning Center. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.75 to $22.75 depending on experience and qualifications, making it an attractive entry to mid-level opportunity in a stable and growing company. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years of customer service experience in an administrative setting preferred
  • prior accounts receivable experience encouraged
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • able to carry parcels or packages occasionally
  • able to walk short distances
  • able to sit for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of customer service experience in an administrative setting is preferred
  • prior accounts receivable experience is highly encouraged
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent is recommended
  • verbal and written communication skills with professional telephone and email etiquette
  • essential skills including active listening, responsiveness, and being personable
  • proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and TEAMS
  • time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • ability to work collaboratively as a team player and independently
  • problem solver in a dynamic environment

Job Duties

  • Assist customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services by telephone or email
  • provide excellent customer service to both customers and UniFirst personnel
  • perform accounts receivable duties including calling on outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving account conflicts through UniFirst’s escalation process
  • partner and provide administrative support to UniFirst’s Sales Department
  • perform basic data entry and other administrative duties
