The Customer Service Representative role at UniFirst is a critical position designed for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer support and administrative assistance. This full-time role operates on a standard five-day workweek with weekends off, providing a healthy work-life balance. The position offers immediate openings with comprehensive on-the-job training to equip new hires with the necessary skills and knowledge. Successful candidates will operate as the primary liaison between customers and the company, providing thoughtful, attentive service via telephone or email. Responsibilities include assisting customers with inquiries related to accounts, procedures, and services, as well as performing accounts receivable duties such as contacting clients about outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving conflicts using UniFirst's structured escalation process.

Additionally, this role supports the sales department administratively, managing data entry tasks and other operational duties that contribute to seamless sales operations. Ideal candidates possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of customer service experience in an administrative setting preferred
  • Prior accounts receivable experience encouraged
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Comfortable carrying parcels or packages and walking short distances
  • Ability to sit for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience in an administrative setting is preferred
  • Prior accounts receivable experience is highly encouraged
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is recommended
  • Verbal and written communication skills including professional telephone and email etiquette
  • Active listening, responsiveness, and personable nature
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

Job Duties

  • Assist customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services by telephone or email
  • Provide excellent customer service to both customers and UniFirst personnel
  • Perform accounts receivable duties including calling on outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving account conflicts through UniFirst’s escalation process
  • Partner and provide administrative support to UniFirst’s Sales Department
  • Perform basic data entry and other administrative duties
