Job Description
UniFirst is a leading provider in the garment services industry, known for delivering high-quality uniform and textile rental services across the United States, Canada, and Europe. With over 14,000 dedicated team partners serving more than 300,000 business customer locations, UniFirst stands as a solid and reputable organization with a rich history spanning 80 years. The company is recognized for its strong family culture that combines the close-knit feel of a small company with the resources and stability of a multibillion-dollar enterprise. Inclusion in prestigious lists such as Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies" underscores UniFirst’s commitment to excellence and growth.
UniFirst is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the company's customer relations by serving as a primary liaison between customers and UniFirst. Working a consistent 5-day work week with weekends off, this position offers a balanced work-life environment. The role includes on-the-job training to ensure that successful candidates are well-prepared and confident in their responsibilities.
As a Customer Service Representative at UniFirst, you will assist customers via telephone and email, addressing inquiries related to accounts, procedures, and services in a professional and courteous manner. This includes providing support not only to customers but also to UniFirst personnel, fostering smooth communication and collaboration across departments. The position requires handling accounts receivable duties such as calling on outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving account conflicts through the company's escalation process. Furthermore, this role supports the sales department administratively and performs basic data entry alongside other administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service within an administrative setting, with prior experience in accounts receivable being highly advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with an emphasis on professional telephone and email etiquette. Candidates must be adept at active listening, responsive interaction, and personable communication, demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Outlook, Excel, Word, and TEAMS. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively while working independently in a team-oriented environment are key traits for success.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally carry parcels or packages, walk short distances, and sit for extended periods. UniFirst values problem solvers who thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to grow within a company that promotes from within and fosters continuous professional development through extensive training programs and online learning platforms.
UniFirst is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a workplace that embraces various cultures, personalities, and backgrounds to drive organizational success. As an equal opportunity employer, UniFirst welcomes applications from all qualified individuals and provides accommodations during the hiring process for those with disabilities or medical conditions.
Benefits for this role include on-the-job training, a 401K with company match, profit sharing, health insurance, an employee assistance program, life insurance, paid time off, direct payroll deposit, tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, and referral bonuses. Joining UniFirst means becoming part of a supportive community culture that values growth and collaboration while working for a recognized leader in the garment services industry.
