The Customer Service Representative role at UniFirst plays a vital part in maintaining the company's commitment to outstanding customer service and operational excellence. This position serves as a critical liaison between customers and the company, ensuring that all inquiries and issues are handled efficiently and professionally. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for assisting customers by answering questions related to accounts, company procedures, and services via telephone or email. Providing excellent customer service to both customers and UniFirst personnel is paramount. This role also involves performing accounts receivable duties including calling on outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving account conflicts through UniFirst's escalation process. Additionally, the representative partners with and provides administrative support to the Sales Department, ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency. Basic data entry and administrative tasks further support the smooth functioning of daily operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a background with at least two years of customer service experience in an administrative setting, with prior accounts receivable experience being highly encouraged. A high school diploma or equivalent is recommended, and candidates must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone and email etiquette. Essential skills include active listening, responsiveness, being personable, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and TEAMS. Time management, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential, as is being a proactive problem solver in a dynamic environment.

Physical requirements include the ability to perform basic mathematical operations comfortably and the capability to lift up to 25 pounds, walk short distances, and sit for extended periods when necessary. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Assist customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services by telephone or email
  • Provide excellent customer service to both customers and UniFirst personnel
  • Perform accounts receivable duties including calling on outstanding accounts, processing credits and exchanges, and resolving account conflicts through UniFirst's escalation process
  • Partner and provide administrative support to UniFirst's Sales Department
