The role of Customer Service Representative at Ashley Furniture is a pivotal position that serves as the frontline ambassador of the brand. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring positive, memorable experiences for every customer who interacts with the store. As the first point of contact, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for greeting customers warmly and professionally, managing communications through in-person, phone, and email channels. In addition to customer-facing duties, this position supports store operations through administrative functions and office tasks essential to the store's overall efficiency and success.
In this role, the Customer Service Representative assists with processing sales orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring all necessary documentation and approvals are obtained to complete transactions. They also handle customer account management by processing credit applications, facilitating financing arrangements, and maintaining up-to-date and accurate customer information in retail management systems. In addition, the representative follows established cash handling procedures to process payments and reconcile transactions under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Another key responsibility lies in resolving customer inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating complex issues to management when required, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely follow-ups. The role also includes supporting management with operational audits, inventory controls, and compliance checks by gathering necessary documentation and verifying accuracy. Maintaining accurate records, preparing routine reports, and properly filing all sales and office paperwork are vital components of this position.
Team collaboration is emphasized, as the representative works closely with the sales team, merchandising staff, and other store associates to ensure a seamless customer experience and smooth store operations. The use of point-of-sale systems, retail management software, and Microsoft Office Suite is integral to performing job duties efficiently and accurately.

Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and retail system transactions
- Minimum of one year of customer service, office, or administrative experience preferred
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
