Job Description

U-Haul is a renowned company that has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households since 1945. Founded by L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, U-Haul recognized the growing need for affordable, accessible, one-way moving equipment across the United States and Canada after World War II. Their innovative approach allowed the cost of ownership to be shared among many users, easing the mobility of millions of people. Today, U-Haul continues to be a leader in the moving and storage industry, offering a range of products and services including rental trucks, trailers, towing devices, and moving supplies.

The company is committed to creating a supportive culture that values health, wellness, and opportunity for growth. Known for its distinctive orange trailers and commitment to customer service, U-Haul operates a widespread network of retail locations and service centers that provide comprehensive solutions for customers’ moving needs. U-Haul's dedication to service excellence and innovation has made it a trusted brand in the moving industry for nearly eight decades.

The Customer Service Representative role at U-Haul is a full-time position focused on delivering excellent customer service while utilizing the latest technology to assist customers with rentals, equipment inspections, and maintenance. The position involves hands-on interaction with customers, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. As the face of U-Haul, the representative will assist customers both inside and outside of the U-Haul center, provide detailed information on products and services, and perform essential tasks such as preparing rental invoices, moving and hooking up trucks and trailers, and maintaining equipment on-site.

This job offers important on-the-job training, including certification programs for propane filling and forklift operation, making it an ideal opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The role also includes an attractive compensation package with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification Program. U-Haul further supports employee growth through U-Haul University, offering continuous education and development opportunities.

This position requires physical activity such as moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds and occasional outdoor work around moving machinery and equipment, emphasizing the need for safety and protective measures. U-Haul promotes an inclusive culture, welcoming applications from all backgrounds and providing accommodations during the selection process as necessary.

With benefits that include health insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and a 401(k) savings plan, U-Haul offers career stability and advancement opportunities for individuals seeking a meaningful and rewarding career in customer service within a respected company. The Customer Service Representative role is essential in maintaining U-Haul’s reputation for exceptional service, making this an excellent opportunity to join a company with a rich history and a strong commitment to its employees and customers.
