This job opening is for a customer service position at G&M retail stores that entails a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where employees are expected to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing outstanding service. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • food handler's permit if required by store or county
  • excellent computer skills including PDI Enterprise POS competency
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little or no supervision
  • basic math skills
  • ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • open availability to work all shifts as needed at home store and other stores within district
  • physical ability to stand or walk for entire shift
  • ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level
  • ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch and use arms extensively during work
  • ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds using hand truck
  • hand-eye and bilateral coordination with hands

Job Duties

  • preserve safety of employees and customers
  • conduct sales transactions accurately and quickly
  • operate POS systems including cash register and fuel console
  • handle credit card transactions, coupon redemption, vendor check-in, and restricted product sales
  • check identification according to policy
  • participate in sales promotions and practice suggestive selling
  • maintain store cleanliness and equipment sanitation
  • prepare hot food items and maintain condiment bar
  • sweep and mop floors
  • clean fuel delivery and pump areas
  • restock merchandise and perform inventory organization
  • conduct daily inspections of perishable products for freshness and proper rotation
  • perform cleaning of restrooms and store surfaces
  • adhere to company safety policies and emergency procedures
  • back up cashier duties during Barista shifts
  • brew fresh coffee regularly
  • deep clean store during night shifts
  • perform all other duties as assigned by Store Manager
