The role of the Customer Service Representative is a pivotal position within the Ashley Furniture retail environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers in the store, acting as a front-line ambassador who reflects Ashley’s brand values through friendly, professional interaction and exceptional service. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for greeting customers, handling inquiries, managing sales order processes, supporting administrative tasks, and assisting with the overall store operations. This position demands strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting.
Responsibilities include key tasks such as processing sales orders accurately, managing customer accounts including credit applications and financing assistance, and handling cash management duties under manager supervision. The representative also supports audit and compliance activities by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring proper documentation. In addition, the Customer Service Representative collaborates closely with sales, merchandising, and store teams to ensure a smooth customer experience and operational efficiency. The role requires comfort working with technology including POS systems, retail management platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.
This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay ranging from $18.00 to $22.00. Ashley Furniture provides a supportive team environment with flexible scheduling that includes weekend and holiday shifts, as well as rotation for store opening and closing responsibilities. Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and system transactions
- One year of customer service, office, or administrative experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet customers warmly and professionally representing Ashley's brand image
- Provide exceptional customer service through in-person, phone, and email communications
- Assist with processing sales orders ensuring documentation and approvals are complete
- Process customer credit applications and assist with financing arrangements
- Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions under supervision
- Address customer inquiries and concerns, escalate complex issues to management
- Support management with audits, inventory processes, and compliance checks
- Maintain accurate records and prepare routine reports
- Collaborate with sales team and store associates to ensure efficient operations
- Utilize point-of-sale systems and retail management software
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
