Since its inception in 1945, U-Haul has committed itself to providing reliable, affordable, and accessible moving equipment and services across the United States and Canada. Driven by the vision of its founders, L.S. "Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, U-Haul transformed the moving industry by introducing the concept of one-way, nationwide rentals. This innovative approach allowed countless individuals and families to relocate with ease and convenience, solidifying U-Haul as a trusted brand in the moving and storage space.
With a deep-rooted culture focused on health, wellness, and exceptional customer service, U-Haul Holding Company and its family of companies take pride in fostering a workplace that supports career growth, employee well-being, and community involvement. U-Haul is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from all qualified individuals, including those with criminal records.
The Customer Service Representative role at U-Haul is a vital position that embodies the company’s commitment to excellent service and operational efficiency. It is an on-the-ground, hands-on role designed for motivated, people-oriented individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy helping customers. This position involves assisting customers with their U-Haul needs, including equipment rental, inspection, and maintenance. Representatives use up-to-date smartphone technology to manage rentals and inventory, ensuring smooth transactions and optimal customer satisfaction.
As a Customer Service Representative, you will be an important face of the U-Haul brand, providing expert guidance and education about products and services and ensuring that equipment is inspected and ready for customer use. Equipment responsibilities include moving trucks and trailers, performing maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, cleaning, installing hitches, trailer wiring, and offering services like propane filling and forklift operation, with certifications provided through U-Haul upon employment.
This role includes comprehensive on-the-job training and continuous education via the U-Haul University program, equipping employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel and potentially advance within the company. U-Haul offers a competitive starting pay from $14.00 per hour, along with compelling benefits and bonuses, including a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 cash bonus for completing certification programs.
