Job Description
Mechanics Bank is a reputable financial institution known for its commitment to fostering genuine connections, partnerships, and long-term relationships with both its employees and clients. The bank emphasizes working together in person to create a collaborative and inclusive environment. Dedicated to providing exceptional banking services, Mechanics Bank operates with a focus on community-oriented values and personalized customer care, ensuring every client receives tailored attention and support for their financial needs. As a well-established bank, it offers a range of financial products and services designed to meet diverse client requirements while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Currently, Mechanics Bank is looking to hire a Customer Service Representative who will work on-site, engaging directly with customers to deliver outstanding service. This role is integral to the bank’s mission to support its customers by processing routine and slightly complex banking transactions accurately and efficiently under general supervision. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for ensuring that all transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, and transfers, are processed in line with established policies, procedures, and security guidelines.
In this position, you will be the face of the bank, providing exemplary customer service in person and over the phone while maintaining professionalism and courtesy. You will assist customers with a variety of banking tasks such as account maintenance, ordering checks, reconciling accounts, and handling safe deposit services. The role requires a sharp attention to detail to ensure operational accuracy and compliance with banking regulations. Handling cash responsibly, balancing cash drawers, and recognizing fraudulent transactions are key responsibilities.
The position also involves educating customers on banking technology like mobile and online banking, advocating the bank's products and services through proactive communication, and making appropriate referrals to other departments when needed. Additionally, the role includes completing administrative and compliance tasks such as processing reports related to regulatory programs and assisting with branch audits.
Mechanics Bank values employees who are detail-oriented, capable of independent decision-making, and effective collaborators within a team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year of experience in banking, and proven customer service and cash handling skills. The pay range for this position is competitive, between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, with eligibility for the Retail Incentive Plan.
Working at Mechanics Bank means joining an employer who provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ well-being at work and beyond. Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage, employee assistance programs, life and disability insurance, health savings accounts, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, sick leave, vacation days, and discounts on banking products. Mechanics Bank is also an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion in its workforce.
