Job Requirements

  • Ability to courteously and effectively deal with customers in person and on the telephone
  • computer proficiency with strong typing skills
  • knowledge of parking facilities, regulations, and procedures
  • knowledge of simple arithmetic and ability to make change quickly and accurately
  • ability to work independently and complete assigned responsibilities
  • physical strength and agility sufficient to perform assigned duties
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • communicate fluently in English
  • ability to communicate effectively with customers using tact and good judgment
  • ability to utilize simple office equipment
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to operate cash register and computer terminal

Job Qualifications

  • High school education
  • at least one year of customer service experience
  • proficiency in English grammar and communication
  • basic knowledge of arithmetic including multiplication and division
  • ability to work with charts, tables, and schedules
  • experience operating cash registers, computer terminals, and related equipment

Job Duties

  • Acts as a liaison between customers and the parking staff
  • resolves customer service issues
  • answers telephone inquiries regarding facility locations, monthly and daily rates, and space availability by facility
  • handles complaints and/or problems regarding parking machines, parking operations, and reports of damage to vehicles while parked in JHM garages or lots
  • conducts transactions remotely to assist customers
  • updates computer files with current customer information
  • provides general information and directions to the public concerning locations of area buildings, private and public parking within JMH
  • prepares printed billing for mailing
  • maintains work area and equipment in a neat and clean state
  • performs other work as assigned
