Among its many community initiatives, the city's comprehensive swim program stands out as a key component, promoting health, safety, and enjoyment throughout the swimming season. The City manages multiple aquatic facilities, ensuring that each operates smoothly and efficiently with the help of dedicated staff members. These facilities provide residents not only with access to swimming and aquatic activities but also offer concession services that enhance the overall visitor experience by supplying refreshments and snacks in a safe and customer-friendly environment.
The Customer Service Manager role within the City's aquatic team is pivotal for the seamless operation of customer service and concession functions at the pool facilities. This supervisory position is tasked with overseeing concession operations, which includes responsibilities such as ordering inventory, maintaining food safety standards, managing cash flow, and ensuring that all computer systems used for operations are effectively utilized. The manager also plays a crucial role in staffing decisions, working alongside the Recreation Supervisor to hire seasonal employees, establish staff schedules, and provide training to ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently met. Additionally, this role involves direct interaction with the public, handling inquiries, and managing on-site public relations to ensure a positive and welcoming environment for all pool visitors.
The responsibilities of the Customer Service Manager encompass a broad range of operational and administrative duties designed to support the aquatic program's success. The position requires someone with a strong background in concession and customer service management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to supervise and motivate a team. This individual must ensure compliance with health regulations, proper handling of food and money, and that the entire team adheres to facility rules and emergency action plans. Through meticulous attention to detail and effective communication with product suppliers, staff, and the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, the Customer Service Manager helps maintain high-quality service and safe aquatic environments.
Working in this role offers the opportunity to be part of a community-focused organization that values teamwork, public service, and excellence in recreational programming. The City of Waukesha supports its employees by fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture where employees can grow their skills and contribute meaningfully to community wellness through high-quality customer service and facility management.
