The company prides itself on its rich heritage and commitment to providing accessible, affordable moving solutions to individuals and families. This legacy is rooted in the visionary efforts of co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, who understood the necessity for one-way rental options to serve a growing, mobile population in the post-World War II era.
Today, U-Haul Holding Company and its family of brands continue to emphasize health, wellness, and equal opportunity within their workforce, fostering a culture of personal growth and professional development. The company has implemented progressive policies including restrictions on nicotine product use in various states and has maintained inclusive hiring practices that welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, including those with a criminal record. U-Haul’s commitment to its employees is reflected in a robust array of benefits, training programs, and career advancement opportunities.
The position of Customer Service / Lot Attendant (part-time) at U-Haul is a critical role that combines customer interaction with operational support. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the face of U-Haul’s exceptional service, providing assistance to customers both inside and outside the U-Haul location. This role requires a friendly, motivated individual who enjoys helping others and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The responsibilities include using up-to-date technology, such as smartphone-based U-Scan tools, to manage rentals and inventory efficiently. The role also involves physical tasks such as moving and hooking up trucks and trailers, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and ensuring all items are clean and ready for use.
This part-time position offers comprehensive on-the-job education, with certifications available for specialized tasks like propane filling and forklift operation. The role offers a starting wage of $16.00 per hour and provides ample opportunity for professional development through continuous training programs offered at U-Haul University. The working environment involves moderate risks, necessitating adherence to special safety measures and the use of protective gear when needed. Physically, the job demands the ability to lift and move equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and engage in both stationary and active tasks.
Joining U-Haul means becoming part of a supportive team that values professionalism, safety, and exceptional customer service. The company offers a diverse and inclusive work culture that promotes career stability and advancement, alongside an extensive benefits package that supports employees' health, financial security, and well-being. If you are a people person who enjoys helping others and is ready to take on a dynamic role with a reputable company, the Customer Service / Lot Attendant position at U-Haul is an excellent opportunity.
