Job Description

U-Haul is a well-established company that has been serving the moving needs of customers across the United States and Canada since 1945. Known for providing do-it-yourself moving equipment on a one-way, nationwide basis, the company was founded by L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, who sought to meet the widespread post-World War II demand for accessible and affordable moving resources. U-Haul has grown into a leading brand in the moving and storage industry, continuously innovating to offer exceptional service quality and customer support. The company is committed to fostering a culture of health and wellness among its employees, providing numerous benefits and educational opportunities. Additionally, U-Haul maintains progressive hiring policies that align with legal standards and emphasize inclusivity and fairness in the workplace.

The role of Customer Service Representative / Lot Attendant at U-Haul offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where individuals have the chance to be the face of the company's notable customer service. This position involves assisting customers both inside and outside of a U-Haul center, managing rentals and inventory with advanced, smartphone-based U-Scan technology, and ensuring that all equipment is properly inspected and maintained. Employees are expected to perform tasks such as moving and hooking up U-Haul trucks and trailers, cleaning and checking fluid levels on the equipment, preparing rental invoices, and accepting returns. Certification opportunities are provided within the company, including for propane filling and forklift operation, emphasizing the investment U-Haul makes in the professional growth and safety of its team members.

This role also includes numerous other duties aimed at enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency, such as installing hitches and trailer wiring and engaging in continuous education through U-Haul University. The company welcomes friendly and motivated individuals who enjoy working with the public and want to develop a career in a stable and growing organization.

U-Haul offers attractive compensation starting at $17.50 per hour, along with a $100 hiring bonus and up to a $300 cash bonus upon completing certification programs. New hires benefit from a unique "Hire Fast, Pay Fast" initiative that allows for paid hands-on interviews starting immediately – a clear demonstration of U-Haul's commitment to valuing and investing in its employees from day one. The position requires some physical exertion, including handling equipment and working outdoors, and adherence to safety protocols is paramount. Overall, the Customer Service Representative / Lot Attendant role is ideal for those who are customer-oriented, reliable, and eager to contribute to a company with a rich history and a promising future.
