Over the years, the company has grown extensively and has become a leader in the moving and storage industry across the United States and Canada. The iconic orange U-Haul trailers are a symbol of mobility and independence for countless customers who choose to manage their own relocations with U-Haul's trusted equipment and services.
The company operates with a strong commitment to health, wellness, and equal employment opportunities. U-Haul Holding Company and its family of companies strive to foster a supportive and inclusive work environment, offering a wide variety of benefits and career advancement opportunities for their employees. The company also maintains a policy regarding nicotine product use in certain states, reflecting its commitment to promoting health and wellness among its workforce.
The role of Customer Service Representative/Lot Attendant at U-Haul is a hands-on, customer-facing position essential to delivering the exceptional service the company is known for. Individuals in this position act as the face of U-Haul, assisting customers inside and outside the center with a comprehensive range of U-Haul products and services. This role requires not only excellent customer service skills but also technical abilities to inspect, maintain, and operate equipment safely and efficiently. You will use smartphone-based technology to manage rentals and inventory, ensuring smooth processing of customer transactions and vehicle dispatch.
This position offers a unique opportunity to start working and earning immediately, supported by U-Haul's 'Hire Fast, Pay Fast' motto. New hires are paid for their two hands-on working interviews, and upon employment, they can receive a $100 hiring bonus. Additional financial incentives include a $300 cash bonus after completing the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program. The company provides thorough training and ongoing education through U-Haul University to help employees build expertise and career growth.
Working as a Customer Service Representative/Lot Attendant at U-Haul involves diverse responsibilities including assisting customers with rentals, inspecting and maintaining equipment like trucks and trailers, installing hitches and trailer wiring, filling propane tanks, and operating forklifts (with certification provided upon employment). Physical stamina is important as the job includes moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and working both indoors and outdoors. U-Haul also prioritizes safety, requiring use of protective gear and adherence to safety guidelines due to the moderate risks involved in this role.
Overall, this position is perfect for motivated, friendly individuals who enjoy working with people and technology, appreciate a dynamic work environment, and are looking for a stable career with abundant opportunities for advancement. With U-Haul's extensive benefits package, supportive culture, and commitment to employee development, this role offers a rewarding career path for those interested in the moving and storage industry.
