Job Description
Wawa is a renowned convenience store and gas station chain with a rich history of serving customers with dedication and care. Founded in 1964, Wawa has grown to become a beloved brand primarily located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, with stores in several states. The company is known for its commitment to quality food, exceptional customer service, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for both customers and associates. Wawa’s business model revolves around meeting customer needs swiftly and effectively while maintaining a community-focused approach that values integrity and teamwork.
Wawa is not just a retail convenience store; it represents a culture of positivity and growth, emphasizing its associates as the company’s greatest asset. The company strives to create a workplace where associates can develop skills, find career advancement opportunities, and feel valued as team players who contribute to the company’s ongoing success. Wawa’s focus on inclusivity and employee ownership through its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) highlights its dedication to sharing success with its workforce.
The company is now hiring for the role of Customer Service Associate (CSA), a vital position that embodies Wawa’s customer-first philosophy. The CSA serves as the friendly and knowledgeable face that greets and assists every customer, ensuring a positive and memorable experience. This role involves a combination of customer interaction, food preparation, transaction handling, and store maintenance to uphold Wawa’s high standards of service and cleanliness.
Working as a CSA at Wawa means joining a team of motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Associates are encouraged to take pride in their work, engage with customers warmly, and support their team members. The position offers an hourly wage range of $15.00 to $18.75, commensurate with experience, position, and location, with the added benefit of a $1.50 shift differential for overnight hours between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. The role is ideal for individuals aged 16 and older who have reliable transportation and a passion for teamwork and customer service.
The CSA responsibilities are broad and varied, including greeting customers with a smile, preparing food items like breakfast foods, sandwiches, specialty beverages, and pizzas, managing the cash register, activating fuel and gift cards, assisting with lottery sales, and verifying IDs for age-restricted items. Additionally, CSAs play a crucial role in keeping the store well-stocked, clean, and safe by following established policies and performing housekeeping duties to maintain a pleasant shopping environment.
Wawa offers its associates a comprehensive and inclusive benefits package that supports employees financially, physically, and emotionally. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage; an Employee Stock Ownership Plan; 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions; education assistance programs; paid parental leave; store discounts; paid time off; flexible schedules; and access to wellness programs. Wawa is committed to fostering a respectful and discrimination-free workplace, promoting diversity and equal opportunities for all employees.
