Job Description

Wawa, Inc. is a renowned convenience store and gas station chain that has carved out a distinctive place in the daily lives of its customers across the eastern United States. Known for its commitment to quality, community, and exceptional customer service, Wawa has become a beloved brand synonymous with great food, friendly faces, and a welcoming atmosphere. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Pennsylvania, Wawa operates hundreds of stores that offer not only convenience products but also fresh and delicious food options, including their famous hoagies, specialty beverages, and made-to-order breakfast items. At its core, Wawa prides itself on fostering a culture that supports its associates and customers alike, aiming to make life a little better every day through meaningful interactions and superior service.

Joining Wawa means becoming part of a team that values collaboration, growth, and community impact. The company’s unique employee ownership structure via its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) allows associates to share directly in the company’s success, reinforcing a sense of pride and ownership across all levels. Wawa is deeply invested in providing inclusive benefits that support the financial, physical, and emotional well-being of its associates. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, mental health support, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid parental leave, education assistance, flexible scheduling, paid time off, store discounts, and more. This comprehensive approach to employee care exemplifies why Wawa is widely regarded as an employer of choice in the retail sector.

As a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Wawa, you play a vital role as the friendly face of the brand, responsible for delivering a welcoming and memorable experience to every customer. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy engaging with diverse groups of people. CSAs are the frontline representatives who ensure customer satisfaction by greeting and assisting guests promptly and courteously, preparing and serving fresh food and beverages, operating cash registers, and maintaining a clean and inviting store atmosphere.

Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks — from building hoagies and preparing breakfast items to managing payment transactions including fuel activation and lottery sales — all while adhering to company policies and safety standards. Emphasizing teamwork and a positive attitude, Wawa’s CSA role offers valuable opportunities to develop strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills. The position is available to candidates 16 years of age and older, with reliable transportation being essential for punctuality.

In addition to being part of a company that champions integrity, respect, and inclusion, Wawa CSAs benefit from competitive hourly wages ranging from $15.00 to $18.75, augmented by a $1.50 shift differential for overnight shifts between midnight and 6 a.m. This compensation package reflects Wawa’s dedication to recognizing and rewarding its hardworking associates. Further, Wawa provides reasonable accommodations in the hiring process to ensure accessibility and fairness for all applicants.

At Wawa, associate success is not just a goal; it’s a shared journey. The company maintains an equal opportunity workplace where diversity is celebrated and discrimination is actively prevented according to all applicable laws. Embracing a culture of fairness and respect, Wawa continues to support an environment where all associates can soar to new heights, grow their careers, and contribute to a brighter community.
