Job Description
Baker Commodities, Inc. is a privately owned rendering company with a rich history spanning over 80 years. The company operates manufacturing facilities strategically located across the United States, providing high-quality products and services worldwide. Baker Commodities prides itself on its dedicated workforce, whose commitment to quality, service, innovation, and integrity has established the company as one of the world's premier players in the rendering industry. With a collaborative and forward-thinking culture, Baker Commodities continues to grow and adapt to meet the evolving needs of its clients and the industry at large.
This full-time role focuses on business development and customer relationship management within the sectors of meat, fish, food processing, and restaurant industries. The position requires a proactive sales approach to safely and effectively procure new business while maintaining a strong customer base. The role involves various responsibilities related to the delivery and service of hard material, grease trap services, used cooking oil collection, and repair and maintenance of drains and grease traps. The successful candidate will spend approximately 75-90 percent of their time in the field, interacting directly with new and existing customers to ensure their needs are met with the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with established contacts in the restaurant and food industry. They must exhibit strong communication skills, both oral and written, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism at all times. The role requires daily engagement with customers to assess service satisfaction, identify potential service upgrades or additional equipment needs, and resolve account cancellations by addressing customer concerns and attempting to reinstate the accounts. The position also involves collaboration with various city and county inspectors to comply with regulatory standards specific to the company’s services.
Daily administrative tasks include preparing customer setup sheets, entering new customer information into the routing system, and reporting progress to division management. The role also demands regular follow-up on service stops with no material collections to assess routing issues. Attendance and punctuality are critical to the smooth operation of the business. Baker Commodities’ commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures an inclusive work environment where all qualified candidates can thrive, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
